Ian Williams

Ian Williams is responsible for defining and setting the company’s direction and working with the Rightworks leadership team on the execution of that strategy. He brings decades of experience driving transformation and profitability in technology-enabled businesses. His visionary leadership and track record of aligning teams around performance and customer centricity positions him to lead the company into its next chapter of growth.

Before Rightworks, Ian was CEO of DRB Systems, where he led the company through record growth by introducing a cloud-based platform that transformed their SaaS/hardware mix, achieving “Rule of 40” performance over multiple years. He has also held executive roles at Deluxe Corporation, Imation, Seagate, and Hewlett-Packard, where he demonstrated an ability to scale businesses from $10M to $3.2B in revenue across sectors, including fintech, data security, and cloud storage.

Joel Hughes

Joel Hughes is responsible for setting the company’s direction and leading the execution of that strategy with the Rightworks leadership team. Since 2017, he has successfully overseen the rapid scaling of the business, including the acquisition of seven companies, transforming Rightworks into the only intelligent cloud purpose-built for accounting firms and professionals. He has an extensive track record of developing and growing businesses and has deep knowledge of corporate strategy and team building.

Before Rightworks, Joel was Senior Vice President of Emerging Business at Constant Contact, where he led strategy, and corporate development and had P&L responsibility for a portfolio of emerging growth businesses. As CEO at LiveWire Mobile (Nasdaq: LVWR), Joel led the transition of NMS Communications (Nasdaq: NMSS) from a hardware company to a mobile software and media business.

Roman Kepczyk

Roman H. Kepczyk, CPA is Director of Firm Technology Strategy at Rightworks. His primary focus is helping firms throughout North America effectively use information technology by educating and directing owners towards today’s optimized CPA firm production processes.On a technical level, Roman is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, AICPA Certified Information Technology Professional and CGMA.

Roman has been named by one of the profession’s Most Recommended Consultants by INSIDE Public Accounting every year of the list from 2004 through 2017, as well as CPA Practice Advisor’s Top 25 Thought Leaders from 2010 to 2018. Accounting Today listed him as one of 2018’s Top 100 Most Influential People within the accounting profession (for the thirteenth time).

He has spent the past 23 years consulting exclusively with CPA firms and prior to that, 10 years with the CPA firm of Henry & Horne, (Arizona’s largest regional firm) where he was the partner in charge of the firm’s Management Advisory Services and Microcomputer Consulting practices. Roman also served as the firm’s Administrative partner where he oversaw Internal Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources, and was responsible for the creation and implementation of the firm’s technology plan and budget.

Roman is also an Advisory Board Member to the CPA Firm Management Association (formerly Association for Accounting Administration) and has served on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Society of CPAs. He has been a featured National and Regional speaker to thousands of CPA firms on information technology.
