Customer Order Fulfillment

Sales Allocation Planning enables sales and marketing to easily create and maintain a sales plan that distributes product booking capacity across the sales hierarchy.

Order Promising uses an instance of the sales plan to check for available manufacturing capacity and sales allocation, so that a reliable delivery commitment can be made to the customer.

Customer Program Management includes three workflows that help customer service representatives set up, execute, and continuously improve the performance of part level inventory programs. Set-up functions include templates with wizard-based support for all standard types of inventory programs, and several major variations. The set-up functions enable companies to define program parts, locations, consignment information, as well as program parameters such as flexible, inventory targets, liability terms, and performance measurement terms. Execution functions handle business-to-business document processing, inventory tracking and reconciliation, forecast analysis, supply analysis, and replenishment planning and order generation.

Performance Monitoring and Analytics supports standard analytics and KPI reports, provides the ability to track the cause of service-level deviations and inventory problems, and monitors instances of flexibility and responsiveness—information key for negotiations.

Material Flow Management

Material Flow Management includes three workflows that optimize the flow of orders and material through the large and complex manufacturing facilities typical of primary metals companies. These workflows are integrated, so that order plans and detailed schedules are always synchronized.

Material Allocation optimizes the process of matching open orders with unassigned material, based on order requirements and material attributes.

Factory Planning enables planners to orchestrate the progression of manufacturing orders and material through each step in the manufacturing process. It is designed to recognize and exploit shifting bottlenecks, and can be easily configured to conform to each plant’s unique loading sequence. The purpose is to create an order plan—usually each day—that keeps bottleneck facilities fully loaded, minimizes WIP inventory, and maximizes delivery performance.

Mill Scheduling helps schedulers create fully executable, detailed production schedules for hot rolling, cold rolling, continuous heat treat, and coating facilities.

Transportation Management

Transportation management includes all of the workflows required to plan, optimize, and execute the metals transport process.

Transportation Bid Collaboration enables intelligent procurement of transportation services.

Transportation Planning enables transport planners to plan and monitor freight across multiple modes, borders, and enterprises. It is designed to optimally plan the best way to ship high volumes of goods from one point to another, considering real-world constraints, sophisticated business rules, and advanced transportation strategies.

Transportation Execution is designed to support the activities necessary to execute, manage, and monitor the entire transportation execution life cycle. The solution builds loads that honor operational and physical constraints, leveraging sophisticated solving techniques to create optimized shipment plans.

Sourcing Execution

Purchased Item Data Management includes rationalization of all duplicate part numbers and part names across the extended enterprise, and continuous maintenance of procurement item catalogs.

Sourcing Execution is the transaction infrastructure that supports generation, authorization, and complete execution of purchase orders. It is designed to support the bidding process for parts and commodities with suppliers, analyze the bids, award the contract, and execute purchases as required by plant operations.
